Christmas Around World – A Truly Holy Night

Christmas Around World

There is one and only one time of the year when the world becomes a less tense, a little more joyful and on that single day, there is a solemn recognition of the birth of Jesus Christ. Each December 25th, families gather together to share the remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger in Bethlehem.

Soldier far away from home and his enemy across the field look up at the stars in the night sky hoping to find the single star that once long ago led the Maji to the Baby Jesus. They forget their animosities and each in their own way understand the reverence that Christmas around world truly inspires.

Christmas Is In The Hearts Of Good People

One needn’t be a religious zealot to understand the true meaning of Christmas. The Child born in a manger had little more than the comfort of His Mother and guardian, St. Joseph on the night of His birth. Yet, this Child would bring peace, love and comfort to those most in need. He would grow to heal the most broken souls and those who had lost their way.

Christmas around world might mean the tolling of cathedral bells all across Europe that call the faithful to honor their newborn King. Or, it might be a simple lighting of candles in the coldest Siberian home to symbolize the birth of Jesus Christ, the True Light of the World. Even in the heat of an African night, the people come together to praise and sing as once the Holy Cherubim and Seraphim sang on the day of His birth.

The Goodness Of Christmas

If there is a truer meaning to the celebration of Christmas, it’s at the moment when worship of Jesus Christ fills the hearts of good people everywhere. No matter how austere life becomes or how much disappointment the world endures, the glow of Jesus Christ, Light of the World, on Christmas Day touches and lifts and heals many hearts, minds and souls to feel at one with God. All human beings thirst for the ability to touch the Divine. Sharing their joy with their loved ones in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ grants nearness to God, the Divine. So families around the world attend special services or Mass, share their first meal of the day together and strengthen the bond between them and Jesus Christ.

Advent – The Stepping Stone To Christmas

In the four weeks before Christmas Day, many Christians in the world observe the religious season of Advent by lighting one candle for each of four weeks. In some traditions, the youngest child is allowed to light the first candle, then other family members until after four weeks all are lit.

Conclusion

Christmas is truly the celebration of love – God’s love – and He loved us sooo very much that He gave all that He had – His one and only Son Jesus Christ – that we might be saved from the consequences of sin.  May you this year, come to know and appreciate the true meaning of Christmas and may the joy, the peace and the love of Christmas find a permanent place  in your heart.
