Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart of JesusPrayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O most Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore You, I love You and with a true sorrow for my sins, I offer You this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Your will.  Grant good Jesus that I may live in You and for You.  Protect me in the midst of danger, comfort me in my afflictions, give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.

Amen.

Petition to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

My Jesus, Lord of my soul, You promised that Your Divine Heart would be the ocean of mercy for the needy who trust in You.  I firmly believe that You can grant to me what I am asking even if it would require a miracle to do it. Where should I go knocking but at the door of your Heart?  “Blessed are they who hope in You.”  O Jesus, I confide to Your Heart the following intention… (silently mention your petetion/intention here)  Please look at it and do what Your Heart dictates.  Let Your Sacred Heart act accordingly.

O Jesus, I count on You. I confide in You. I surrender and consecrate myself to You. I feel secure in You. “Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You.”

Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O amiable Heart of my Saviour, I adore You! O gracious Heart of my Jesus, I love You! O compassionate Heart I give You my heart, and am deeply moved by all You have done and suffered for me. Yes, I give You my whole heart. Attach it eternally to Yourself. Inflame it with Your love. Inspire it with Your sentiments. Make it know Your will and practice Your virtue.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with infinite love, broken by my ingratitude, pierced by my sins, yet loving me still – accept the consecration that I make to You of all that I am and all that I have.  Take every faculty of my soul and body. Draw me, day by day, nearer and nearer to your Sacred Heart, and there, as I can bear the lesson, teach me your blessed ways.

Amen.
