Saint Carlo Acutis and the Mission of Fully Catholic

When the Church canonized St. Carlo Acutis in 2025, it was more than a recognition of a young man’s holiness — it was a signpost for our times. Carlo was born in 1991 and grew up like many young people: he loved soccer, video games, and spending time with friends. But above all, he loved Jesus in the Eucharist. From a very young age, he attended daily Mass, prayed the Rosary, and had a deep devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.

Carlo also had a gift. He understood that the internet could be more than entertainment. For him, it was a tool for evangelization.

Carlo’s Mission Online

At just 11 years old, Carlo began cataloguing Eucharistic miracles from around the world. What started as a personal project quickly grew into a digital mission. In 2004, he launched his website dedicated to these miracles, with the help and encouragement of his family.

For about two and a half years, Carlo poured his energy into researching, organizing, and designing the site so that people everywhere could discover the reality of Jesus truly present in the Eucharist. Finally, on October 4, 2006 — the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi — the website was officially unveiled. Just days later, Carlo fell ill with leukemia, and he offered his sufferings for the Pope and for the Church. He died on October 12, 2006, leaving behind not just a website, but a digital legacy of faith that continues to inspire the world.

His mission was clear: “To always be close to Jesus, that is my life plan.” And through the internet, he invited countless others to walk that same path.

The Fully Catholic Mission

In 2003, at a conference in Trinidad, the seed for Fully Catholic was planted. The theme was The Church and the Internet, and the idea was bold: the internet must become a vessel for truth, a means to share the faith with the ends of the earth.

At the time, it seemed like a vision too big to imagine. Yet the challenge was given: “I hope this is not just talk, but that you will do something about it.” The answer was yes — a yes that, like Carlo’s, was made in faith without knowing what God had in store.

Fully Catholic began humbly, with simple resources like the Rosary and a few talks on Church teaching. But over time, it grew. A website became a community. A static page became an internet radio station, broadcasting Catholic content to listeners around the world. Partnerships, like with Catholic Answers, expanded the reach. And today, with the rise of artificial intelligence, Fully Catholic is pioneering again — creating original music, rooted in Scripture and Catholic spirituality, to evangelize hearts across cultures and generations.

A Shared Calling

St. Carlo Acutis and Fully Catholic share the same heartbeat: to use modern tools to serve the ancient truth of the Gospel. Carlo catalogued Eucharistic miracles; Fully Catholic proclaims the fullness of the faith. Carlo harnessed technology to draw people to the Eucharist; Fully Catholic uses digital media and music to point souls to Christ and His Church.

Both recognize that the internet can be more than distraction — it can be a sanctuary, a pulpit, a mission field. And both remind us that evangelization today is not about choosing what we like in the faith (buffet-style Catholicism), but about being fully Catholic — embracing the faith in its wholeness and beauty.

The Legacy and the Call

Today, St. Carlo Acutis stands as a heavenly patron for this kind of digital evangelization. His life shows that sanctity is possible at any age, and that holiness can flourish even in the online world. Fully Catholic continues in that same spirit — seeking to carry the truth, beauty, and joy of the Catholic faith into every corner of the digital landscape.

The mission remains urgent: to take the truth of Catholicism to the ends of the earth, to counter half-truths with fullness, to turn technology into a pathway of grace.

Like Carlo, Fully Catholic says yes. And like Carlo, it trusts that God will take that yes and transform it into a work far greater than we could ever imagine.

St. Carlo Acutis,
you loved Jesus in the Holy Eucharist with all your heart,
and you used the tools of your time — the internet and technology —
to make Him known and loved across the world.

We entrust Fully Catholic, Sanctus Music,
and all ministries of online evangelization to your heavenly care.
Intercede for us, that our words, music, and digital presence
may always proclaim the truth of the Catholic faith
with clarity, creativity, and love.

Pray for us, that we may be faithful servants of Christ,
bold in sharing the Gospel,
and humble in living the fullness of our Catholic faith.

Watch over every person who encounters this mission.
May they be drawn not to us, but to Jesus,
present in the Blessed Sacrament and alive in His Church.

St. Carlo Acutis, digital apostle of the Eucharist,
pray for us and for all who seek to use their gifts online
to lead souls to heaven.

Amen.
