Mary’s Magnificent Mission Through Salvation History
Let me tell you a story, a tale so old,
Of a woman whose role in salvation’s history is bold.
From the days of Adam to the birth of Christ,
Mary’s presence weaves through the ages like a strand of light.
In Genesis, we meet Eve, the mother of all,
Who tasted the fruit and watched humanity fall.
But God promised a savior, a seed of the woman,
Who would crush the serpent’s head and bring redemption.
And so we fast forward to the time of Abraham,
When God called him to leave his homeland.
Through his line, the Savior would come to earth,
And bless the nations with a new birth.
From Isaac to Jacob and Judah’s tribe,
The promise of the Savior remained alive.
And in the time of King David, a king after God’s own heart,
A promise was made that set salvation’s plan apart.
The promise was that from David’s line,
A ruler would come, a king divine.
A ruler whose reign would never cease,
And bring salvation and eternal peace.
But time passed, and the people’s faith grew dim,
And they waited for the Messiah, a long-awaited dream.
And then came the Annunciation, the moment of grace,
When an angel appeared and told Mary her place.
Mary’s heart was troubled, but she did not fear,
For she knew that God’s plan was finally here.
She was to bear a son, the Holy One,
And through him, salvation would finally come.
And so Mary’s role in salvation’s plan,
From the Old Testament to the birth of the Son of Man,
Is one of grace, of faith, and of love,
A witness to God’s plan from above.
Mary said yes, and so the journey began,
A humble maiden, chosen to bear salvation’s plan.
She carried him in her womb, and raised him as her son,
Watching as he grew, until his mission was begun.
He preached and healed, and showed us how to love,
And when the time was right, he went to his Father above.
But not before he gave us the greatest gift of all,
His body and blood, broken and poured out for all.
Mary was there, at the foot of the cross,
As her son died, taking on all our loss.
She watched him breathe his last, and then be laid to rest,
But she knew that he would rise, and fulfill God’s behest.
And so he did, rising on the third day,
Defeating death and sin, and lighting the way.
He ascended to heaven, but left us with his grace,
Promising to return, and make all things right in his embrace.
Mary’s role in Salvation’s story,
Is one of courage, faith, and glory.
From the Old Testament to the New,
Her yes to God made all things true.
Let us learn from Mary, and say yes to God today,
That we too may bear Christ, and show others the way.
For in salvation’s history, we are all a part,
Called to live out God’s love, and share it from the heart.
