There Is A blessing With Your Name On It

READ  2 CORINTHIANS 4:1-10

MEDITATION: Norman Hutchins wrote the song: GOD’S GOT A BLESSING WITH YOUR NAME ON IT. He said,

It makes no difference what you’re going through,  You’re going to make it, God’s going to see you through.  Hold your head up, put a smile on your face,  this is another test, it won’t last always.

Chorus: Get ready for your blessing,  get ready for your miracle.  Get ready for your blessing,  get ready for your miracle.

I know you’ve been hurting deep down inside,  let me encourage you, it’s going to be alright.  Troubles and trials come to make you strong, keep on believing, you keep holding on.

David needed a miracle when he cried out in Psalm 31:13, “I am forgotten, out of mind like the dead; I am like a shattered dish. (I am like a broken vessel)” Generally speaking, when something is broken, it is useless unless it can be repaired:

  • Perhaps you know what it is like to have a broken arm or leg.

  • When a person is financially drained so that he has absolutely nothing, he is said to be “broke.”

  • When a person’s romantic hopes are destroyed, he is heartbroken.

  • When a person is at rock bottom, he is broken.

  • When a person is broken, he is almost useless, unless he gets repaired.

When things are broken in your life, you are in trouble: It causes some to become bitter and angry and it hurts their relationships. They take out their bitterness over what has happened on those around them. They develop a short fuse, they say things that they don’t really mean, and they lose control of their emotions very easily. It causes some to become discouraged, disillusioned, and even depressed. “A glad heart lights up the face, but by mental anguish the spirit is broken.” (Proverbs 15:13) Some blame God for what has happened and either drop out of church or quit serving like they used to.

God is not a cruel God. He allows things to happen for a reason. Romans 8:28 “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” 2 Corinthians 4:17 “For this momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.” God wants what is best for you…He wants to do something great in and with and through your life. Someone once said, “Before God can use a man greatly, He must wound him deeply.” “Before you can bless, you must bleed; before you can help, you must first hurt.” Oswald Chambers was right when he said, “If we are ever going to be made into wine, we will have to be crushed—you cannot drink grapes. Grapes become wine only when they have been squeezed.”

Do you want to be used by God as a vessel of honor unto ministry? Will you allow God to break you so He can re-mold you in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ? are you ready to bleed before you can bless?

ACTION: Place in your Prayer bowl all the brokenness you have had to go through your entire life.
