Jesus Christ the King Reigns Supreme Over All

Even Kings and Emperors with heaps of wealth and vast dominion cannot compare with an aunt filled with the love of God.

Today the Holy Roman Catholic Church celebrates the solemnity of Christ the King of The Universal Church. all about Church’s teachings come down to this one truth tattoo Church professes and that is that Jesus Christ he is the king of kings. He is not a king in a worldly sense. In fact, during his three years of ministry, his disciples and followers had a very difficult time reconciling Jesus the Messiah, with how they believed he should be. In Luke’s gospel, Cleopas said they had hoped that he (Jesus), would be the one to set Israel free (Luke 24:21).

Jesus Christ is truly King of all kings. He does not exercise his kingship in a worldly manner. He does not go around wielding a sword to exercise authority over his subjects. In fact, Jesus’ authority and his kingship are exercised through love. It Is this Love that conquers darkness and the evil around us. His love conquers all.

So even amidst difficulties that we face in our world today, the love of God made visible through Christ Jesus, reigns supreme. That love is visible in the lives of those who are filled with the Spirit of Christ, and who have become his hands, his feet, his eyes, his ears, his heart.

If you want to experience and to see the lordship of Christ Jesus, King of kings, then all you need to do is to bend your will to his will. Let go of self, let go of selfishness, let go of sin, and allow the love of God to reign in you. This can be a very difficult and painful thing for many to do. Ask him for the grace to let go. Ask him for the grace to allow him to be your King and your Lord. Allow the love of God to transform you. Allow Jesus Christ to touch and transform you at your core – from the depths of your soul. You will see the glory of God. You will see the reign of his son Jesus Christ who is truly the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

It is when we allow the love of God to transform us, when we allow Him who is King of all kings to bend our imperfect wills to His perfect will, it then we will be among the sheep on the right hand of Christ the King, and hear him say to us, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, sick and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’ (Matthew 25: 34 – 37)

May Christ the King grant us all the grace to become all that he is calling us to be. Amen.
