Why Did God Not Prevent The First Man From Sinning?

St. Leo the Great responds, "Christ's inexpressible grace gave us blessings better than those the demon's envy had taken away." And St. Thomas Aquinas wrote, "There is nothing to prevent human nature's being raised up to something greater, even after sin; God permits evil in order to draw forth some greater good. Thus St. Paul says, 'Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more'; and the Exsultet sings, 'O happy fault,... which gained for us so great a Redeemer!'

YEAR OF FAITH CORNER

At the Last Supper with his apostles on the eve of his passion Jesus anticipated, that is, both symbolized his free self-offering and made it really present: “This is my Body which is given for you” (Luke 22:19), “This is my Blood which is poured out...” (Matthew 26:28) Thus he both instituted the Eucharist as the “memorial” (1 Corinthians 11:25) of his sacrifice and instituted his apostles as priests of the new covenant. 1. [Psalm Of David When he was fleeing from his son Absalom] Yahweh, how countless are my enemies, how countless those who rise up against me,
  2. how countless those who say of me, 'No salvation for him from his God!
  3. But you, Yahweh, the shield at my side, my glory, you hold my head high.
  4. I cry out to Yahweh; he answers from his holy mountain.
  5. As for me, if I lie down and sleep, I shall awake, for Yahweh sustains me.
  6. I have no fear of people in their thousands upon thousands, who range themselves against me wherever I turn.
  7. Arise, Yahweh, rescue me, my God! You strike all my foes across the face, you break the teeth of the wicked.
  8. In Yahweh is salvation, on your people, your blessing!

Reverence For Mass

We are losing that sense of reverence for the Holy Eucharist by the way we rush in and out of Mass, the way we dress for Mass, the use of cell phones during Mass, among other things. Do you agree?
